David and Susan Matthews are surrounded by their family and friends to celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary, Susan can’t help but reflect on the blessings and trials she and David have been confronted with on their journey together. 

As their granddaughter prepares for her wedding, she is seeking her grandparent’s advice to achieving the perfect marriage like theirs. To Betsy’s astonishment, she learns their marriage has been far from perfect. In fact, twenty years ago, it almost ended.
